Love Bristol Festival 2006
Parts of South Bristol have some of the highest indices of multiple deprivation in the UK, in stark contrast with the City as a whole which is largely prosperous. This presents Bristol as a divided City in terms of access, facilities and economic activity.
With this in mind the Joshua Trust supported the Love Bristol Festival which was an initiative of the Bristol Church community. The aim was to recruit up to 1,000 people from the Bristol region who would then give 20,000 hours of community action on the streets of South Bristol as an expression of love and care for the communities.
The proposed creation of 2-Degrees could provide as many as 2,000 jobs. This initiative is designed to provide all-year-round family enjoyment for the city community as well as be a significant national or even international tourist attraction. 2-Degrees would provide a major boost to the standing of Bristol in Europe.
